Before & Aftercare FAQ's

Waxing

Before:

  • Stop shaving/plucking 2 weeks prior to your wax

  • Gently exfoliate skin a day or two before treatment

  • Please shower before appointment 

  • Do not apply moisturiser or oils on area before treatment 

  • Avoid exercising directly before treatment

After:

  • Do allow you skin calm down post wax, can take unto 72 hours

  • Do not exfoliate for 48 hours directly after treatment 

  • Do exfoliate skin 1-2 a week with an exfoliating glove or body scrub

  • Do moisturise daily

  • Do avoid wearing tight clothing to avoid rubbing 

  • Do not use deodorant on area for 24 hours after treatment 

  • Avoid using any fake tans for 48 hours after treatment

  • Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours after treatment 

  • Avoid pools, saunas and direct sunlight for 24 hours 

  • Avoid picking at ingrown hairs

  • Do rebook your next wax for 4-6 weeks time

  • Avoid any beauty treatments for 3 -7 days 1e: sunbathing, IPL, laser, peels and massage 

  • Apply cold press  or anti histamine cream to areas to reduce excess irritation or hiving

 

LASH LIFT

Before:

  • Cease using your Lash Curler 1 month before

  • Allow 2 months after your last extension is removed

  • Wash your hair before your appointment if its that time of the week!

  • Come to your appointment With OUT make up on your lashes.

After:

  • No Steam, Water, Makeup, moistuirser on your lashes for 24 hours

  • IF your lashes are too curly, please contact us so we can soften the curl ASAP.

  • IF your lashes haven't curled enough, please let us know & we can alter your timing next appointment.

  • DO brush you lashes in the morning.

  • DO wet your lashes in the weeks coming in the morning before you brush them so they become untangled.

  • DO use a nourishing oil to ensure lash strength and health

  • Avoid Water-proof mascara

  • DO have a lash tint in 4 weeks time to freshen up your lashes

  • DO allow 8 weeks minimum between lash lifts.

 

IPL

Before:

  • Please do not apply fake tan 2 weeks prior to treatment 

  • Come with clean unmoisturised skin for all IPL type treatments

  • For hair removal iPL - avoid shaving or plucking prior to session for technician to sight and a plan will be customised to the client

  • Clients with broken capillaries avoid exfoliation on those affected skin areas

  • Clients should advise the technician if they have started a new medication or skin routine or are pregnant.

  • Avoid sun or UV exposure ideally for a few weeks prior

After:

  • For Hair removal - there is little to no side effects.  Hair will begin to slow down in growth but closely booked appointments for the first 3 treatments is highly recommended for optimum results

  • For IPL facial skin treatments - we apply an soothing agent to the skin and no heavy creams or foundations should be applied to the skin until 3 hours later

  • Light exfoliation to the treated area is advisable after the 5th day of treatment 

  •  

  • Usually there is minimal down time with these treatments.  However in the event of the treated area getting a light burn - cold packs and soothing gel works well and no scarring will occur.

 

SKIN NEEDLING 

Before 

  • Avoid using abrasive skincare products such retinols, exfoliants, topical antibiotics and acids for at least 48 hours before.

  • Avoid uv exposure from direct sunlight and tanning beds 7 days before treatment.

  • Avoid Accutane for 6 months before treatment.

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medication prior as these can interfere with natural inflammatory process that is critical for skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoid IPL/LASER procedures for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect of micro needling.

After

24 hours 

  • Cleansing or applying any creams to your skin.

  • No make up is to be applied for 24 hours.

  • Have a Clean pillow case on your pillow.

  • Avoid hot/spicy food for 24 hours.

 

48 hours

  • Direct ultra violet exposure (sun and solariums

  • Intensive cardio, exercise or gymnasium regimens

  • Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or saunas

  • Further clinical treatments (including, but not limited to: microdermabrasion, laser, intense pulsed light, chemicals peels, muscle relaxant injections and dermal fillers)

  • Spray or self-tanning

  • Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean

  • Tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing)

  •  

What you may experience in the next 5 day & normal experiences:
- Flushing of the skin varying from pink to red - Warmth, like a sunburnt feeling. - Dry, flaky, or peeling - Minor itching - Hives

Skincare to AVOID for the next 5 days:

  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) (including but not limited to: glycolic, lactic or malic acid)

  • Beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) including salicylic acid

  • Benzoyl peroxide

  • Retinoids (including but not limited to: Trevino in, retinol and retinaldehyde) -

  • Hydroquinone - High levels of kojic or azelaic acid

  • Alcohol (including but not limited to: isopropyl, alcohol / de-natured alcohol / rubbing alcohol


Makeup -

  • Light non-occlusive and non-comedogenic makeup may be applied 24 hours post procedure.

  • We recommend Eco Minerals BB Cream or powder for after needling makeup.


Do :

  • Exfoliate your skin with the recommended products 5 days POST needling, if you are coming in for your complimentary 30min facial wait for the facial.

  • Apply your recommended after care and moisturises a few times a day if you are experiencing the flaking or dryness.
